How to Prepare & Enjoy (Steaming Instructions)
- Do Not Thaw: Take the Modaks out of the freezer. Dip them in water for a second to break tiny ice crystals around them. Take them out of water at the next instant. The watery layer formed therein could be used to steam the Modaks.
- Setup Steamer: Grease your steamer tray or banana leaf lightly with pure desi ghee. Arrange the frozen Modaks giving a small gap between each.
- Steam: Steam over high heat for 10 to 12 minutes until the outer rice layer turns glossy and soft.
- Serve Hot: Remove carefully, drizzle generously with warm melted desi ghee, and serve hot.
